Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 2026
Calq stores all your calculations on your device and in your personal iCloud. We do not collect, see, or store any of your calculations. No advertising. No tracking. No exceptions.
What we collect
Calq collects nothing that identifies you or your calculations. The only data we may receive:
- Anonymous crash reports — if you opt in, we receive anonymous technical information about crashes (no personal data, no calculation content).
- App Store metrics — Apple provides aggregate, anonymous data such as total downloads and app ratings. We cannot identify individual users from this data.
- Template Marketplace submissions — if you submit a template to the marketplace, we receive the .calq file and the contact email you provide. We use this only to review and publish your template.
Where your calculations live
- All calculation sheets are stored locally on your iPhone.
- If iCloud sync is enabled, your sheets sync to your personal iCloud account — a service you control through your Apple ID. Calq cannot access your iCloud data.
- When you use the web editor at usecalq.com/calq, any share links you generate encode your sheet in the URL fragment — this data is never sent to our servers.
- If you use the shortcode feature (for very long sheets), the compressed .calq data is stored on our server temporarily (90 days inactivity TTL), keyed only by a content hash. No account or identity is associated with it.
What we never do
- Sell your data to any third party
- Show you advertising
- Access your calculation content from our servers
- Share your data with advertisers or data brokers
- Use your calculations to train machine learning models
Third-party services
Calq uses Apple's App Store and StoreKit for payments. Apple's privacy policy governs that data. We use no other third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Children
Calq does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app contains no age-gated content.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and change the effective date. We will not retroactively weaken protections for data already collected.
